Welcome to week three, of the start/sit column.
Start:
QB: Ben Roethlisberger vs Houston- The Texans secondary has been exposed by Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes this season so far, and Big Ben can exploit that group with his young nucleus of WR's.
QB: Ryan Tannehill @ Minnesota- Ryan Tannehill has continued to dominate off play-action, and has a great matchup this week against an unproven Vikings backend.
RB: Kenyan Drake vs Detroit- I love the matchup for Drake to have a 100 plus yard game this week after what Aaron Jones did to the Lions defense in week two.
RB: Jerrick McKinnon @ NYG- McKinnon will likely be the only healthy back this week for the 49ers. Expect a lot of touches for the 49ers RB.
WR: CeeDee Lamb @ Seattle- The emergence of CeeDee Lamb continues in this matchup, and he has his best game yet.
WR: T.Y. Hilton vs NYJ- Hilton has had a quiet start to the season, but with a matchup against the Jets looming, now is a great time to make some noise.
TE: Mike Gesicki @ Jacksonville- After Jonnu Smith put up 75 yards and 2 TD's against the Jags last week, Gesicki is a must start.
TE: Darren Waller @ New England- Waller continues to emerge as Derek Carr's favorite target, and one of the best TE's in the league.
Sit:
QB: Deshaun Watson @ Pittsburgh- There are better options this week then Watson going against one of the strongest secondary's in the NFL on the road.
QB: Matthew Stafford @ Arizona- The Cardinals defense is emerging as a very solid unit, and Detroit is a mess right now.
RB: David Johnson @ Pittsburgh- After an impressive week one performance, Johnson only had 34 rushing yards last week. Expect his bad play to continue against a very good front seven.
RB: Ronald Jones II @ Denver- Leonard Fournette is slowly starting to become the lead back for Tom Brady and the Bucs. Don't trust Jones this week.
WR: Stefon Diggs vs LAR- Jalen Ramsey will likely shadow Diggs all afternoon. Despite his hot start to the year, there are better matchups out there this week.
WR: Emanuel Sanders vs Green Bay- Sanders was a no show in his first game as WR1 without Michael Thomas, and has a tougher matchup against a good Green Bay secondary.
TE: Rob Gronkowski @ Denver- Until he shows that he can be a factor in this offense, he is unplayable.
TE: Austin Hooper vs Washington- Hooper hasn't had a big role yet with his new team, and until he does there are better TE's to start.
