QB: 3
Carson Wentz, Nate Sudfeld, Clayton Thorson
Overview: The franchise QB, Carson Wentz, will be the starter and Sudfeld will back him up. The third spot will be up for grabs between Thorson and Kessler, but Thorson gets the nod due to being a draft pick this year.
RB: 5
Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood
Overview: Howard and Sanders were two big offseason acquisitions and should receive the bulk of the carries. Sproles gives value on third down and in the return game. Clement and Smallwood will serve as depth pieces and add value on special teams.
WR: 5
Nelson Agholor, Alshon Jeffrey, DeSean Jackson, Mack Hollins, J.J. Arcgea Whiteside
Overview: Barring any injuries or surprise pre-seasons, this should be the group of wideouts for the Eagles this year.
TE: 3
Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Richard Rodgers
Overview: Ertz and Goedert are going to wreak havoc on the league in the passing game this year. The Eagles need a third TE to help in the blocking game though, and Rodgers is the better blocker out of the TE's competing for a roster spot.
OL: 10
Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, Stefen Wisnewski, Lane Johnson, Jason Peters, Andre Dillard, Ryan Bates, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Issac Semualo, Jordan Mailata
Overview: Kelce, Brooks, Wiz, Johnson, Peters Dillard, and Big V are locks. The rest of the lineman will be competing for spots. Semualo gets the nod due to expereince, and Mailata/Bates get a roster spot due to long term potential. Bates was a very good lineman at Penn State and could be a diamond in the rough.
DL: 9
Derek Barnett, Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, Shareef Miller, Josh Sweat, Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Tim Jernigan, Hassan Ridgeway
Overview: This is probably the best collection of talent when it comes to defensive lines in the league. Expect at least nine defensive lineman, potentially ten due to Jim Schwartz affinity for rotating his lineman.
LB: 5
Nigel Bradham, Zach Brown, Nate Gerry, Kamu Grugier-Hill, L.J. Fort
Overview: Fort gets the nod over Worrilow due to his standout special teams ability.
CB: 6
Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Avonte Maddox, Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones, Cre'Von LeBlanc
Overview: If the Eagles take six corners, this will be the group. Look for someone like Jones, or Douglas to potentially get traded during the preseason.
S: 4
Malcolm Jenkins, Rodney McLeod, Andrew Sendejo, Blake Countess
Overview: Jenkins, McLeod, and Sendejo are all locks. Countess makes the roster due to his special teams ability and solid pass coverage skills.
Specialists: 3
Jake Elliot, Cam Johnston, Rick Lovato
Overview: These will be the specialists, barring any injury.
