Here is my first crack at a 2021 NFL Mock Draft. The draft order is determined by my season predictions for the teams.
Giants- OT Penei Sewell (Oregon)- Is it too soon to give up on Daniel Jones? I think so. The Giants take another tackle to sure up their offensive line and protect Jones, while paving rushing lanes for Saquon as well.
Bears- QB Trevor Lawerence (Clemson)- The best QB prospect I have ever seen. It seems like a sure thing that Lawrence is the first QB off the board, and the Bears could use him.
Jaguars- QB Justin Fields (Ohio State)- Gardner Minshew is a solid player, but he doesn’t have the size, speed, and athleticism that Field offers at the QB position.
Bengals- WR Ja’Marr Chase (LSU)- The best WR in this draft pairs up with his old college QB to form an exciting duo going forward in Cincy.
Redskins- LB Micah Parsons (PSU)- An athletic freak who can do it all, Parsons versatility to rush the passer, play the run, and drop into coverage will make him an All-Pro player.
Panthers-EDGE Gregory Rousseau (Miami FL)- Still a raw prospect, Rousseau has all the tools to be an elite pass rusher and will be a welcomed addition to the Carolina core under the new regime.
Patriots- QB Trey Lance (North Dakota State)- The Cam Newton experiment fails, and the Patriots take a chance on the latest FCS star QB.
Lions- CB Caleb Farley (Virginia Tech)- The best corner in the draft would give the Lions a very good pairing with Okudah at the cornerback position.
Browns- DL Marvin Wilson (Florida State)- Myles Garret would benefit from more inside rush on the line to give him opportunities on the outside, and Wilson will help aid that.
Jaguars (via Rams) - WR DeVonta Smith (Alabama)- A downfield threat to give the new strong armed QB, Justin Fields.
Jets- WR Rondale Moore (Purdue)- An electric playmaker with the ball in his hands will give Sam Darnold some more offensive firepower.
Chargers- TE Pat Freiermuth (PSU)- Hunter Henry has had an up and down career so far, and has failed to stay healthy. Freiermuth gives young QB Justin Herbert a big target over the middle.
Falcons- EDGE Quincy Roche (Miami FL)- Another year, another draft that the Falcons are in the market for edge help.
Dolphins- WR Rashod Bateman (Minnesota)- Has drawn Michael Thomas comparisons, and he will give Tua a go to target going forward.
Raiders- QB Brock Purdy (Iowa State)- If the Raiders are picking here, they will be in the market for a QB. Purdy is a smart, strong armed, accurate QB that Jon Gruden could build around.
49ers- CB Patrick Surtain II (Alabama)- As Richard Sherman ages, it might be time to invest in his replacement.
Titans- OL Creed Humprhey (Oklahoma)- Beefing up the interior of this offensive line that has an offense with a run heavy approach would benefit their future.
Packers- WR Jaylen Waddle (Alabama)- The Packers NEED a WR, and Waddle is a big play threat everytime he touches the ball.
Colts- CB Tyson Campbell (Georgia)- The Colts should continue to address their secondary on their young defense.
Eagles- LB Dylan Moses (Alabama)- The Eagles LB’s are among the worst in the league. A three down LB like Moses is much needed.
Bills- CB Shaun Wade (Ohio State)- A corner to pair with White on the other side needs to be in the plans for Buffalo.
Bucs- OL Wyatt Davis (Ohio State)- Tom Brady and the Bucs could use more help on the interior of the line.
Broncos- DE Aidan Hutchison (Michigan)- As Von Miller gets older, pass rush help is going to be needed out in Denver.
Cowboys- OT Alex Leatherwood (Alabama)- As Tyron Smith gets older and continues to fight the injury bug, his eventual replacement is needed.
Jets (via Seahawks)- CB Paulson Abedo (Stanford)- The Jets corners are a weak spot on their defense.
Vikings- OL Josh Meyers (Ohio State)- It seems the Vikings are always in the market for help up front on offense.
Dolphins (via Texans)- RB Travis Etienne (Clemson)- With a luxury of picks again, the Dolphins take an explosive RB, who can take it to the house at any time.
Steelers- OT Dillon Radunz (North Dakota State)- With an aging offensive line, the Steelers need to begin to look to the future.
Chiefs- S Hamsah Nasirlideen (Florida State)- Another versatile safety to throw on a defense that already has the Honey Badger would be a wise move by KC.
Cardinals- TE Kyle Pitts (Florida)- Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and Kyle Pitts? Good luck, defenses.
Ravens- OL Trey Smith (Tennessee)- As important as Lamar Jackson is, making sure the Ravens are always strong up front needs to be a priority to protect him.
Saints- CB Asante Samuel Jr. (Florida State)- Taking a chance on a corner with rich bloodlines from an ACC school is a chance that I would be willing to take in a pass heavy league.
